Room 314 Monday Evening

This better not be a mistake. I pull out the package from Eleziane and pull out a bottle of the wine. I'm often a cautious person, when I'm not feeling apparently suicidal so I make a firm decision. No more than two glasses each.

River knocked and looked inside. "That's the wine?" she whispered loudly to Tim, looking at the bottle. Breaking rules against drinking alcohol was a very teenagey thing to do. River was excited.

The bottle had a very pretty lable, printed in Elvish and without his wand to translate it, Tim couldn't read it.

"this is it." he confirmed. "I'm told it's a good vintage but I'm not sure what that means really. Elves measure time differently."

River sat down on the floor. "Right, let's try it."

Tim nodded and handed her a glass which he filled halfway with the wine, then he poured himself some. "Here's hoping it doesn't make us hallucinate or turn us into animals." he said.

it won't, but it tastes really good, makes those who drink it feel really good, and the amount they drink should get them a buzzed, but not falling down drunk

River sipped the wine, imitating an elegant gesture. "Mmmm, nice," she said.

tim grinned, and likewise imitated the gesture as he sipped it. "Wow, that is nice." he agreed. "Granted I have no basis for comparison."

River then emptied the glass in one go, and burped. "Very nice. Oops." She had to remember not to take after Jayne when it came to drinking.

Tim snickered. "I didn't know wine made people do that." he said. "thought that was just beer and soda." He poured her another glass.

"Last one, don't want to get drunk the first time."

"Why not?" River said, giggling. "You're trying to be proper or something?"

"Well there is that. Plus, I've never had copious amounts of alchohol before, and I only have two bottles."

River emptied her second glass. "Excuses."

Tim had only just then finished his first glass, and poured his second one. "Be that as it may." he said. His head was starting to tingle pleasantly. "I'm firmly resolved to cut us off after two glasses."
It was possible she'd be able to talk him into giving her a bit more. Maybe.

Giggling again, River rose and began to spin around until she fell into a heap on the floor.

Tim laughed. "Then again maybe two glasses is already too much." he teased.

River blinked. "I should go to bed."

Tim finished his second glass. "If you should." he said, and hugged her. "Say hi to Berthold for me."

"I will," she said, returning his hug. Then she stumbled out of the room.
