"So," My mom asked. "How does it feel to go an entire year without having to save the world?"
"I won't lie." I said. "If feels damn weird." Weird? Hell my shoulders still ache from the tension of waiting for the other shoe to drop. Every week or so I expected the school to be attacked by monsters, or for Yang to show up to embarrass me horrifically. I kept waiting for the smell of fish to assault my nostrils announcing Teleri's arrival. But nope, nothing.
I did get to visit my favorite Banshee in Faery, but no new threat arrived to test my skills as Dread and Puissant Champion of the Fae. I don't know, maybe the forces of Whatever decided there was no way to top Loki trying to bring on Ragnarok.
"Did you get bored?"
"Mom I was too busy worrying about what might happen to be bored. I don't know how long it'll take before I-"
I can sometimes fool my mom, but not this time. She gave me a look that showed she was not fooled.
"Yeah kinda."
"Well, maybe this will help." She slid a piece of paper across the table, smirking. "Johann found something that we thought would interest you."
When I realized that the paper was, my eyes widened. "Mom are you shitting me?!"
"Tim!"
"Sorry. But...is this real?" Maybe I should be pissed at Faust for volunteering me for this, but I was too damn excited. I'd lost contact with Fandom a while ago. And now, not only was contact re-established, but I was going back!
To teach. Should I be afraid for me or the students?
