Neil hat taken to calling their apartment in London The Flat. As if he was trying to remind himself what Brits called them.

Tim didn't usually worry about that. He was a Yank, studying abroad. As one of his classmates had said "tell them you're American, they won't expect as much".

He conformed in a lot of ways, but felt that abandoning slang deliberately was too much effort. If he started calling it The Flat, rather than the apartment, naturally, then so be it.

He had in fact been calling fries, chips, for some time now.

In any case that wasn't what he was pondering right now. He'd begun the final year of his schooling, and he had some pretty big decisions to make. He could, go for a higher degree, or attempt to venture out into the world to make his fortune. Of course with an advanced degree in Mythology and Folklore he didn't think there were many options employment-wise.

But then, he suspected he'd reached the point in his life, where such decisions were not for him alone. There was one other very important matter. And she'd played such a vital role in his life so far, that he figured it was time to consult her on such matters.

[For the girlfriend.]

One of the good things about being who she was meant that she could live in her own world or in the modern world as she felt the desire. Back home, there was peace in Britain for the moment, and Richard and the others hoped that it would last for a bit longer this time. She had spent some time in the states visiting with Eve, but now she was back in the modern version of England with Tim.

Currently she was going over an assignment that she had from a correspondence course in Medieval History that she had enrolled in at the urging of Eve and Benicio. Correspondence courses were much easier for her to handle.

She came into the room where Tim was with her book, but paused to watch him.

"You have that thinky face you get."

"I have a 'thinky face'?" he laughed. "I didn't realize I was that transparent."

Gwynn grinned at him and nodded. "Well, it's not so much that you're transparent as it is that I'm really good at reading body language and the smallest changes in facial expressions."

"Handy skill to have. I'm gonna guess that that helps in the whole 'defender of England' gig too right? Telling who the enemy is, or figuring out where an attack is going to come from and I've gotten off track from what caused my 'thinky face'."

If nothing else, saying it all out loud might help him get it straight in his own brain. "So...this is my last year in school. And, I've got some decisions to make, except that I don't think they're just my decisions anymore. I think maybe, they should be our decisions."

Gwynn sat down next to him, a question clear in her eyes.

"What kind of decisions are you needing to make, Tim?" She questioned him. "You know I'll always be right here at your side in anything that you want to do."

"And I love you for that. Well that and other things. But it can't just be about what I want to do. What do you want to do? I mean, with Portalocity we've got options not everyone gets I guess. I mean, whether I tried to get a job or pursue a higher degree, we could still probably live wherever, or whenever we wanted. Which reminds me, how's your classes going?" Bad English maybe.
